Edwin Stemberger was born in Vienna in 1953.
He received his first piano lessons while at elementary school. He was also a member of the Vienna Boys’ Choir under Erich Schwarzbauer with whom he sang as a soloist several times.
Edwin Stemberger attended lower level secondary school at the Schottengymnasium in Vienna, before his enormous interest in music led to a move to the then newly founded Musikgymnasium.
He studied with Professor Reznicek and passed his final diploma examination with distinction.
He performs both as a chamber musician and a soloist, appearing in Japan, Australia and the USA among other countries.
He has been a flautist (principal piccolo) with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1975.
