The title of this concert series seems like a grotesque in these times of Corona, when we have lost so much closeness in the past months, to people, to music and to many other things. So, the anticipation of returning to the stage in the near future has elicited a few special concert programs from the musicians of the Vienna RSO.
There is a reunion with the Fagotes Locos and a concert with a wind quintet at the Arnold Schönberg Center with rarely heard works by Pavel Haas and Egon Wellesz. Guest conductor Ingo Metzmacher performs one of the world's best-known chamber music works, the Trout Quintet, at the piano, and members of the Orchestra Academy create their own portrait concert. Two programs that were prevented by the first lockdown will also be made up. In addition to more well-known works by Schönberg, Zemlinsky and Mahler, the program also includes pieces by contemporary composers Gerald Resch and Wolfram Wagner. When a few days after the opening of the concert halls in June 2020, after months of silence, a chamber music concert could be heard in the ORF RadioKulturhaus with music by Beethoven, it was a particularly gratifying concert experience for the RSO musicians. Hoping to be able to make music for you again very soon aus nächster Nähe...
