Born in Frankfurt am Main in 1998, Alexander Tauber began his musical journey at school, where he first took up the trombone in a wind ensemble class. He soon gained orchestral experience in various youth orchestras, including the State Youth Symphony Orchestra of Hesse (LJSO Hessen).
From 2017, he studied with Jeroen Menten, trombonist of the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra, at Dr. Hoch’s Conservatory in Frankfurt. In 2018, he continued his studies at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart under Professor Henning Wiegräbe. He also received valuable artistic inspiration from Frank Szathmáry-Filipitsch, Harald Matjaschitz, and Christian Hammerer.
During the 2019/2020 season, Alexander Tauber was an academy member of the Stuttgart State Orchestra, gaining extensive experience in both opera and symphonic repertoire. In the 2021/2022 season, he served as Associate Principal Trombone of the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, followed in 2023 by a contract as Principal Trombone at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. He has also performed regularly as a guest musician with numerous German orchestras.
In addition to his orchestral work, Alexander Tauber is active as a chamber musician and soloist. He performs with ensembles and brass bands such as Brass Band Frankfurt and Hessen Brass, and has appeared as a soloist in a variety of concert programs and with different orchestras and ensembles.
Since 2023, Alexander Tauber has held the position of Associate Principal Trombone with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
