After the Minister's Council on 26 April, the Federal Government announced that the financing of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra is secured by additional funds from the Federal Government until 2026 and is also enshrined in law. By the end of 2025, the federal government will also develop a concept for the long-term security of the RSO Vienna.
State Secretary Andrea Mayer: "The immediate future of the RSO is secured by means of a subsidy up to and including 2026 - for the period beyond that, the political commitment of the Federal Government is equally unequivocal. Discussions will have to be held on the exact form of the orchestra's long-term future. But one thing is clear - and will soon be enshrined in law: the RSO will remain - and that is a good thing.
