Music education is an important task of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. In workshops, rehearsal visits, in the music laboratory and with our Podcast "Warum Klassik?", we bring the music of our orchestra closer to the youngest, but also to adults. Some highlights of the current season:
We welcome primary school children to "Ferdinand the Bull". After listening to the story of the peace-loving Ferdinand in Alain Ridout's musical tale, the children can try out the instruments of our orchestra.

In our percussion workshop "Schlag auf Schlag", children aged six to 12 get to know the various percussion instruments in our orchestra. 1st timpanist Josef Gumpinger explains the percussion groups - and at the end all the children get to hit the timpani hard!

At our workshops in cooperation with the MusikTheater an der Wien, we welcome high school students. After a musical and dramaturgical introduction, the young people work through the plot themselves in Tiktok workshops.
Last but not least: bassoonist Leonard Eröd and his music education podcast "Warum Klassik", now with 28 episodes for all those who love classical music but perhaps don't know it yet.
